Running your own business means wearing many hats and being competent in all those areas. One of our company's owners, recognizing the importance of Health and Safety compliance, took it upon himself to enhance our business’s standards. He enrolled in the NEBOSH General Certificate in Health and Safety course, a qualification known for its rigorous standards and comprehensive curriculum.

Described as equivalent to completing an A-level in a month, the course demanded significant commitment. He spent countless hours in the classroom balancing this with extensive home study. The intensive preparation culminated in exams just before Christmas, marking the end of a challenging period.

When the results were released in February, he discovered that he had not passed one of the modules. This was a surprising and disheartening outcome, especially since many of his classmates also did not pass the first part of the course. Upon closer inspection of the marking, it became apparent that several students believed their scores did not reflect their performance.

Determined not to be discouraged, the group decided to take action. In March, they collectively opted to have their exams remarked, a process that involved a thorough review of their answers and the marking criteria. This decision reflected their confidence in their knowledge and their commitment to achieving the qualification.

The waiting period was tense, but in May, the revised results brought good news. Several students, including our Managing Director, had their exams re-evaluated and successfully passed. This achievement was not just a personal victory but also a significant milestone for our company. 

It underscored our commitment to excellence in Health and Safety and demonstrated the resilience and determination of our leadership.

Achieving the NEBOSH General Certificate in Health and Safety is a testament to the dedication and hard work required to meet the highest standards. It equips our company with the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain a safe working environment, ensuring the well-being of our employees and the sustainability of our operations.
