Farleigh Hospice Christmas Tree recycling campaign is fast approaching where we collect and recycle real Christmas trees from homes within our local community in return for a donation. Over the past decade, our Christmas Tree Recycling Service has collected nearly 21,000 trees raising an amazing £352,565 for the hospice. This amazing achievement would not have been possible without our outstanding volunteers and the local companies, organisations and councils who kindly help us.
There is still time to volunteer this year and we welcome the support of any business, organisation, or individuals with their own vehicles. Ideal vehicles are large transit vans or 3.5-ton tail lifts. These might be used in your day-to-day operations or hired in for the event.
The Christmas tree collections will stretch over four days – the 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th January 2026. This ensures we have time to collect all registered trees and that we aren’t working in the dark. Our volunteer drivers are provided with route maps and once collected, the trees are returned to our event base at Generals Farm by the A12 Interchange in Boreham, where they are chipped and sold for biomass fuel. We provide everything you need, including routing and mapping, bacon rolls, goodie bags etc.
We’d love to welcome you on board! It’s a fantastic opportunity to give back, boost team morale, and enjoy a fun, festive day out. Just email treecollection@farleighhospice.org for your elf application and become part of our merry crew.
If you cannot offer to volunteer we would be grateful if you would please share the message to colleagues, friends and family that we can recycle their Christmas tree with us. In return for a donation, our team will collect and recycle them from doorsteps - we do collect from both business and residential addresses. Its easy, eco-friendly, and every pound raised helps us provide compassionate care across mid Essex. Click here to register your tree.
