Essex County Council has published its third annual report on climate action. This details the county’s journey and progress to reduce carbon emissions while also addressing the increasing risks from our changing weather.
This publication follows the council’s previous reports for 2021/22 and 2022/23, and outlines climate action across the county including Essex County Council’s delivery of its £250 million Climate Action Plan.
The report includes a wide range of case studies and information from organisations of all kinds, with climate action from private companies, public sector bodies and community groups in Essex.
Essex County Council's Climate Czar and Cabinet Member for Environment, Waste Reduction and Recycling, Councillor Peter Schwier said: “I’m really proud of the work we are doing in Essex to mitigate climate change and open all the opportunities from a growing green economy for our businesses and residents.
“This report perfectly showcases how far we have come, but also importantly highlights that there is still much more work to be done. The future is looking bright for this county.”
The Essex Climate Action Annual Report details the progress made towards reaching the net-zero targets and it is published at the end of each year. Read the full report online.
