We are only just into 2025, and various announcements have been made from organisations which have some influence on the way you and your colleagues work. 

The most important is the news of the phasing out and total end of support for the Windows 10 operating system. This means that effective October 2025, Microsoft will no longer provide free support, technical or security updates for the operating system, or any of those which preceded it. 

The likelihood of this is that your computers will no longer be protected from malicious activity, even if you have furnished those systems with anti-virus or malware software of any type. You will either need to upgrade your computers to run Windows 11 (if they are able to do so); purchase new computers which are equipped to run the new operating system, or consider an alternative operating system in it’s entirety, such as Apple OS or a variant of Linux. 

We recommend in the first instance that you access the Microsoft Windows 11 Compatibility Checker software, on your systems.

If indeed your systems are not compatible with the new operating system, Zanshuri will be able to assist you in sourcing and installing new computers which are fully compatible, and ensuring those systems are setup to the express needs of your organisation. In other news, there are further steps being taken by the Information Commissioners Office to insure that organisations of all types remain compliant with data protection law as well as protecting the functionality and where possible, the IT of their own organisations.
