Harlow based Stort Valley Gifting has been recognised as Micro Business of the Year: East of England by the FSB (Federation of Small Businesses). The awards, which are open to all, are designed to celebrate the achievements of small businesses throughout the UK.
Applicants for the awards are required to submit responses to a series of questions about their background, commitment to sustainability and support of their local community and other small businesses. Winners are invited to a regional awards event followed by the national event which this year was held in Blackpool.
Stort Valley Gifting was formed in 2020 by Emma and Rob Robson. They produce carefully curated hampers and gifts containing artisan food and drink crafted by passionate local producers, making them truly memorable. The business has grown exponentially from a small Safestore unit to impressive large premises resulting in national and regional recognition from Small Business Britain in 2022 and F:Entrepreneur in 2023.
Emma Robson from Stort Valley Gifting reacted to winning: “There are so many incredible small businesses in the East of England so for us to be recognised with the Micro Business award is a true honour.
“As a business, we are passionate about championing local; not only with our gift hampers, which focus on the best of Herts and Essex, but also with the suppliers we use, from our desks to our ribbon printers, and everything in-between.
“We believe that small businesses are at the heart of every community and hope that by winning this award it will allow us to share with others the delights our region has to offer. We are so grateful to everyone who has supported us in our journey – without our customers we wouldn’t be where we are today”.
