If your organisation is looking for interesting and unique ways to support your local community in 2025, Farleigh Hospice has an exciting range of corporate volunteering and team building opportunities, starting with Christmas Tree Recycling on 10, 11 and 12 January.
Farleigh Hospice is the local charity that provides specialist care and support, free of charge, to people affected by life-limiting illnesses and bereavement across mid Essex. Its corporate fundraising team has experience of working closely with organisations and businesses of all sizes to develop mutually-beneficial partnerships.
There are established fundraising events and challenges throughout the year that are ideal for corporate team building - either as volunteer helpers or as participants – including Get Festive for Farleigh, quiz nights, Farleigh’s Charity Golf Day, Walk for Life and Cycle for Life.
The first of these events in 2025 is Farleigh’s Christmas Tree Recycling service on 10, 11 and 12 January.
The charity collects real Christmas trees from homes and businesses across mid Essex. They are taken to a recycling hub in Boreham, Chelmsford where they are chipped, ready to be used for biomass fuel or on pathways in local cemeteries and parks. This is great for the environment and the money raised from donations helps Farleigh to continue providing its much-needed hospice services, free of charge.
Farleigh Hospice relies on a large team of volunteers to transport the trees and is looking for organisations and individuals with their own vehicles - ideally large transit vans or 3.5-ton tail lifts suitable for residential roads – who can help. These might be used in your day-to-day operations or hired in for the event.
Farleigh will provide all the information and guidance you need to take part, including comprehensive risk assessments and safety briefings and the routes for collecting the trees and taking them to the recycling hub. They will also supply hot rolls to start the day, hot food at lunchtime and goodie bags to take out in the vehicles.
The collection takes place during daylight hours (8am – 3.30pm) on Friday 10, Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 January. Farleigh Hospice is very grateful to any organisations or individuals who can help during one or more of these days.
