
On April 17th, local businesses came together to raise money for Southend YMCA.
Organised by AJ Chambers, World Cup-on-Sea is an annual charity football tournament held at Roots Hall Stadium. Over the years, World Cup-on-Sea has raised approximately £170,000 for various charities.
This year, charity football team: The Farke Knight Rises won the trophy, and Rickard Luckin was the top fundraiser with a grand total of £1,390 contributed to Southend YMCA.
Jason Reynolds, Operations Director at AJ Chambers, said: "What an amazing day again, our 5th year of World Cup-on-Sea and it just keeps getting better. This year should take us to around £175K raised over the years, and we were delighted to work with the incredible team at Southend YMCA, a brilliant local cause we were very proud to support."
Syrie Cox, CEO of Southend YMCA, said: "We’re absolutely delighted to have been chosen as this year’s charity.
